Additionally, the variable “NONRESREV” has been considered as endogenous in column (1), and the variable “RESREV” has been considered as endogenous in column (2). In column (1), as the variable “RESREV” contains many zeros and exhibit a high skewness, it has been transformed using the transformation method proposed by Yeyati et al. (2007). The other variables have been considered as exogenous. In particular, the variable “INST” has been considered as exogenous for two reasons: first, it changes little over time; second the use of factor analysis severely mitigates the endogeneity concern that could stem from the reverse causality from the dependent variable
